The 1st Dukedom of France (Uzès est qualifiée de premier duché de
France) The village history dates back to Roman times and beyond…
The town itself has a castle and some lovely bars & retaurants. It is famous for the markets that
take place on a Saturday and Wednesday, filling the whole town with colour and spectacle.
The town has many festivals, with the main one taking place on the first weekend in August.
Centre of attention is the Place Aux Herbs with it’s fountain and vaulted outer walkways.
Markets
Market day is a must, on a Saturday the market fills every bit of the town, don't try to drive in !
